Occupational therapy
Occupational therapy is the art and science of enabling participation in
everyday meaningful activities in the pediatric population these
activities include:
- Self care task(dressing, feeding, sleeping etc.)
- School productivity(tabletop activities including handwriting,
cutting and other fine motor activities)
- Leisure activities(play skills, social skills etc.)
An occupational therapist can evaluate a child’s ability to
participate in the above daily activities and compare them to what
is developmentally appropriate for his or her age group.
Treatment is focused on improving the child’s skill level in the
desired areas, based on the goals and needs of the parents and
the child.
Helping children build better self-esteem, confidence and
independence in all the things they do.
